Police arrests 3 drug peddlers and recovers contraband substance

Budgam:  Budgam Police arrested 03 drug peddlers and recovered contraband in the form of Narcotic drugs and Psychotropic substance from their possession.
During Naka checking duty, the Police party of P/S Magam intercepted two suspicious persons carrying Nylon bag at Govt Boys Higher Secondary School Magam. On seeing the Police Party they tried to flee from the spot but were apprehended tactfully.
During their personal search, Heroin like substance weighing about 11 grams and a digital weighing machine was recovered from their possession. They were arrested on spot and subsequently identified as Ishfaq Ahmad Parray S/o Ali Mohd Parray R/o Hardu-Malpora Beerwah & Aamir Farooq wani S/o Farooq Ahmed Wani R/o Arath Budgam.
In this regard a case FIR No 155/2024 U/S 8/21 of NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Magam and further investigation has been taken up.
Similarly, Police Party of P/S Chadoora headed by SHO Chadoora and accompanied by I/C PP Mochewa established a Naka at Sheikhpora Wathoora crossing and apprehended one suspicious person who was carrying nylon bag. Upon seeing Police Party he tried to flee from the spot, however Police party chased him tactfully.
During preliminary questioning he revealed his identity as Irfan Amin Sheikh S/o Mohammad Amin Sheikh R/o Dooniwari Chadoora and during search 07 sticks (Lathis) of charas like substance weighing about 230 gms wrapped in Corn Maize husk with 1100 grams of semi-grinded powder like substance apparently charas was recovered from his possession. He was arrested on spot and accordingly a case FIR No. 172 /2024 U/s 8/20 was registered in Police Station Chadoora and further investigation was set into motion.
