Deputy CM acts on absenteeism at R&B Office Jammu

Summons Chief Engineer, suspends several employees, vows strict action

Srinagar, Nov 28 : Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary issued a stern warning to government employees during his visit to the Chief Engineer R&B Office in Jammu on Tuesday.

Expressing his disappointment, the Deputy CM revealed that nearly 70% of the staff, including senior officers, were absent from duty.

“I was shocked to see the lack of discipline in the office. The employees were not present, and I was misled by others with applications from the absent staff. This level of negligence is unacceptable, and I had no choice but to suspend them,” ,” Choudhary told reporters, as per new agency KINS.

Taking immediate action, the Deputy CM has summoned the Chief Engineer to the Secretariat for further explanations.

He assured strict measures to ensure accountability within the department.

“We are here to serve the people and officers and employees must answer for their actions,” Choudhary said.

“This government is committed to delivering relief to the public, and we will visit every office to assess employee behavior and performance. Laxity will not be tolerated.”(KINS)
