Anantnag Police Arrest Woman Drug Peddler, Seize 8 Kilograms of Cannabis Powder

Anantnag: As part of a step against drug trafficking, the Bijbehara Police Station in Anantnag arrested a woman drug peddler on Saturday.
A police spokesperson in a statement issued said, the accused, identified as Gulshana, wife of Mohammad Yousuf Ganie from Takiya Maksood Shah, Bijbehara, was apprehended during a checkpoint operation conducted by the police in the area.
It reads, approximately 8 kilograms of cannabis powder were recovered from her possession, marking a major success in the ongoing fight against narcotics in the region. A case has been registered against the accused under FIR No. 226/2024, U/S 8/20 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at Police Station Bijbehara.
The police have launched an investigation to uncover further links to the drug network. Authorities have reiterated their commitment to tackling drug abuse, which continues to pose a grave threat to society. They have also urged community members to cooperate in eradicating this menace through collective efforts.
