Kashmir Valley Sees Slight Relief in Night Temperatures; Light Rain and Snowfall Expected

Srinagar: The Kashmir Valley experienced a marginal rise in night temperatures, offering some relief from the intense cold. Srinagar, the summer capital, recorded a minimum temperature of 2.5°C, a noticeable improvement from the previous day’s coldest night of the season at -1.2°C.

Other stations in the valley also reported a slight uptick in temperatures. The ski resort of Gulmarg in north Kashmir remained the coldest, with a minimum temperature of -0.5°C. Meanwhile, Pahalgam in south Kashmir recorded a minimum of 3.2°C, and Kupwara in north Kashmir saw 2.1°C.
The Meteorological Department has forecast a drop in temperatures over the coming days, predicting a 2-3°C decrease in night temperatures.
In the Jammu division, Jammu city recorded 12.4°C, Katra 11°C, Batote 6.5°C, Banihal 5.2°C, and Bhaderwah 3.2°C as the minimum temperatures.
The region is also set to experience a mix of weather conditions in the coming days, including light rain and snowfall in higher reaches. The MeT Department has predicted cloudy skies with light precipitation from the late night of November 23 to the morning of November 24. Additionally, light rain and snow are expected in higher altitudes from the late night of November 30 to the morning of December 1. The weather is expected to remain dry between December 2-5.
This forecast indicates varied weather patterns, with residents advised to stay prepared for the changeable conditions.(CNS)
