Police arrested 3 drug peddlers in Baramulla; Contraband substance recovered

Baramulla : Police have arrested three drug peddlers in Baramulla and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
A Police party of Police Station Uri headed by SHO PS Uri at a checkpoint established at Gingal Bridge, intercepted one person who were identified as Syed Hassan Shah son of Syed Mehboob resident of Gingal. During the search 6.5 Kgs of contraband Cannabis Powder like substances was recovered from his possession. He has been arrested and has been shifted to the Police Station.
Similarly, Police party of Police Station Baramulla headed by SHO PS Baramulla at a checkpoint established at Janbazpora Baramulla, intercepted one person who was identified as Mushtaq Ahmad Ganie son of Abdul Majid resident of Binner. During the search 100 grams of contraband Charas-like substances was recovered from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to the Police Station.
In addition to the above, the Police party of Police Station Sheeri headed by SHO PS Sheeri at a checkpoint established at Forest Check Post Gantamulla Baramulla, intercepted one person who was identified as Mohd Amin Sheikh son of Gh Rasool resident of Kitchama. During the search 30 grams of contraband Charas-like substances was recovered from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to the Police Station.
Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at Police Station Uri, Baramulla & Sheeri and. investigation has been initiated.
We urge the common masses that if you witness drug peddling or any other crime anywhere near you, feel free to contact the nearest police establishment or dial 112. People are requested to cooperate with police in curbing the menace of drugs from the society. We reassure the community members that police will act tough against the criminals as per law.
