SDRF Kashmir Commences Three Day Community-Based Disaster Response Training, Capacity Building Programme In Srinagar

Srinagar: State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) on Tuesday commenced a three day community based disaster response training and capacity building programme at Mir Behari Saidakadal area of Srinagar district.

In a handout to GNS, a spokesman of SDRF said that today the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) Kashmir commenced a three-day Community-Based Disaster Response Training and Capacity Building Program at Mir Behari Saidakadal Srinagar. The program was organized in collaboration with the Department of Geography and Disaster Management, University of Kashmir.

The program was officially inaugurated/flagged off by the Vice Chancellor of Kashmir University, Nelofar Khan, and supported by Commandant SDRF 1st Battalion, Masroor Ahmad Mir (SSP) along with other dignitaries at Kashmir University under the guidance of Commandant General HG/CD & SDRF J&K Vijay Kumar (IPS).

This initiative is expected to significantly enhance participants’ confidence and competence, enabling them to effectively deal the disasters at primary level, reads the statement.(GNS)
