2 militants killed in ongoing Sopore encounter

Sopore: Two unidentified militants have been killed in the ongoing encounter in Sagipora area of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, officials said.

A top official told the news agency — Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that following credible inputs about the presence of  militants   in Panipura, Sagipora, a joint operation was launched.

He said that as forces zeroed in the suspected spot, exchange of fire took place between the hiding terrorists and the forces, leading to a fierce encounter.

In the ensuing operation, two  militants have been killed, while the operation is ongoing, he said.

This is the third encounter in north Kashmir in the last few days—(KNO)
