DEO Srinagar chairs Account Reconciliation meeting of Contesting Candidates of GELA-2024

Srinagar: District Election Officer (Deputy Commissioner), Srinagar Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat, today in Presence of the two Expenditure Observers from Election Commission of India chaired the Account Reconciliation meeting for all the Contesting Candidates of recently held Assembly Polls in eight Assembly Constituencies of District Srinagar.

Beside Returning Officers, Candidates or their Authorized Election Agents of all Assembly segments of District Srinagar were also present in the meeting.

The District Election Officer at the commencement, emphasized that all the participating Candidates and Election agents must ensure submission of duly completed Election Expenditure Registers of Candidates as laid down under the ECI guidelines.

DEO informed the participants that each Expenditure Register shall be accompanied with all supporting documents including Vouchers, Bank Statements, requisite affidavits, etc. as enshrined under the expenditure and monitoring rules of ECI.

DEO, further apprised the participants that filing of Expenditures on Account Election Expenses by each of the Contesting Candidate before the ECI is essential as the same contributes towards the transparency and objectivity in the democratic process Elections.

On the occasion, various participating candidates appreciated the efforts made by the District Election Machinery for holding the Assembly Elections in District Srinagar in a free, fair, transparent and peaceful manner. They further expressed that all the Returning Officers and team of District Election Officer facilitated them through various means during their participation in the Elections.

The meeting was also attended by the Dy. District Election Officer, Srinagar, District Nodal Officer for Expenditure and Monitoring (Saddar Treasury Officer), Srinagar and all Assistant Expenditure Observers of eight Assembly Constituencies of District Srinagar.
