Mumbai: Famous Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai turned 51 today.
Aishwarya Rai is one of the special actors of Bollywood who not only changed the traditional thinking of using heroines in films as mere showpieces, but also gave Bollywood a special presence at the international level.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was born on November 1, 1973 in Mangalore. After some time his family came to Mumbai. In his childhood, he was inclined towards becoming an architect, but later his inclination was towards modeling.
In the year 1994, Aishwarya Rai participated in the Miss India pageant where she was awarded the title of Miss India. After Rita Faria, Hasina became the second Indian to win the title of Miss World while waving the flag of India all over the world in the Miss World pageant. In this competition, he was also awarded with the title of Photogenic. After winning the pageant, Aishwarya Rai took part in social welfare work and during this time she got the opportunity to work with several national and international organizations.
In the year 1997, Aishwarya Rai started her film career with the Tamil film Airavaras. In the same year, he also made his debut in Bollywood and worked with Bobby Deol in Pyaar Gayi. Unfortunately, this film turned out to be a failure. Then in 1998, Aishwarya Rai starred in S Shankar’s Tamil film Janes. After the success of this film, Aishwarya Rai managed to make her mark in the film industry to some extent. In 1999, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film Hum De Chuke Sanam proved to be the main film of Aishwarya’s Sunny career. Even in the presence of established stars like Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn, Aishwarya played the role of Nandini in the film to the best of her ability. He was awarded the Filmfare Award for this film.
In the same year, Aishwarya got an opportunity to act in Subhash Ghai’s film Taal. In the film, Aishwarya played the role of a village girl who dreams of becoming a pop singer. This film entered the top twenty films especially in America. She was awarded the Filmfare Award for Best Actress for her outstanding role in the film.
The year 2000 turned out to be very important for Aishwarya Rai. This year the film Josh was released in which she played the role of Shah Rukh Khan’s sister. Apart from this, successful films like Hamara Dal Aap Pas Hai and Mohabbatein were released.
In the year 2002, Aishwarya Rai got an opportunity to act in a film based on Sharatchandra Chattopadhyay’s famous novel Devdas. Aishwarya played the role of Paro in this film which was hugely popular.
She was awarded the Filmfare Award for Best Actress for the second time for this film.
