Srinagar: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha visited Lal Chowk’s iconic Ghanta Ghar today to review the smart city projects.

The visit focused on assessing the progress of several ongoing projects aimed at modernizing Srinagar’s infrastructure and improving the quality of life for its residents.

News agency KINS reported that during his visit, LG Sinha was accompanied by senior officials, including the Divisional Commissioner of Kashmir and the Commissioner of the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC).

“These officials provided detailed updates on the various projects under the Smart City initiative, highlighting the stages of completion, current challenges, and the impact these developments are expected to have on the city,” officials said.

In his review, LG Sinha emphasized the importance of adhering to project timelines.

He directed the officials to ensure that each project is completed without delays, underlining that these initiatives are crucial for enhancing the city’s infrastructure and services.

LG Sinha also expressed the need for quality standards to be maintained throughout each phase of construction and development.

As part of the update, the Divisional Commissioner of Kashmir informed LG Sinha that the Noor Bagh Cement Bridge, one of the key infrastructure projects under the initiative, is on track and will be completed by December. This bridge is expected to ease traffic and provide better connectivity for residents, aligning with the overall goals of the Smart City mission.
