IADVL J&K Branch & GMC Srinagar host Aesthetics Workshop

Srinagar: The Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists, and Leprologists (IADVL) Jammu and Kashmir Branch, in collaboration with Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar today organized a comprehensive workshop on ‘Excellence in Aesthetic Injectables.’
The workshop featured national and local faculty, with Prof. Iffat Hassan, Principal/Dean GMC Srinagar, as the Patron, and Dr. Yasmeen Jabeen, HOD Dermatology, Venereology & Leprosy and President IADVL J&K, as the organizing chairperson.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Dr.Iffat Hassan said that this workshop demonstrates GMC Srinagar’s commitment to promoting excellence in dermatology.
SIG Aesthetics coordinator Dr Rajat Kandhari, Covener Dr Rashmi Sharma, Dr Sonali Langar, Dr Nishita Ranka, Dr Imran Majid and Dr Syed Mubashir deliberated on various topics.
The sessions were chaired by HODs of Dermatology from different medical institutions like SKIMS Medical College, Prof. Dr Seema Qayoom; GMC Baramulla, Dr Parvaiz Anwar; GMC Anantnag, Dr Ummar Yaseen; GMC Handwara, Dr Samia Aleem and senior dermatologists of the valley Prof .Dr. Sheikh Manzoor, Dr Dilshad Khan along with dermatologists from Directorate of Health Services Dr Shazia Shah, Dr Shabudin Bukhari and Dr Mohuidin etc.
The workshop included insightful lectures on the latest techniques and best practices in aesthetic injections, covering toxins and fillers, with a focus on safety, efficacy, and patient satisfaction.
Participants then engaged in a hands-on workshop, practicing their skills under the guidance of experienced faculty in over 15 patients.
This pioneering workshop in J&K aimed to enhance dermatologists’ knowledge and skills in aesthetic injections, ensuring patients receive top-notch care without complications.
60 participants were benefited from expert guidance while as 15 patients received treatments during hands-on sessions. It was the first of its kind workshop in J&K with focus on safety, efficacy, and patient satisfaction.
