J&K Media on Press Tour to Telangana; media delegation called on Governor of Telangana

Governor Telangana Jishnu Dev lauded PIB for organizing such tours

Hyderabad: A delegation about twelve journalists from various newspapers of Jammu & Kashmir called on the Hon’ble Governor of Telangana Sri Jishnu Dev Varma today at Rajbhavan. The said delegation are on tour to Telangana organized by Press Information Bureau as part of the ‘Press Tour’, wherein, journalists from one state / UT  are taken to another State / UT to understand the implementation of policies and programmes of the Government at the ground level. The delegation was headed by Smt Shruti Patil, Additional Director General, PIB Hyderabad and Shri Tariq Rather, Deputy Director of PIB, Srinagar.

Media delegation from Jammu and Kashmir welcomed by Telagana Hon’ble Governor, Sri Jishnu Dev Varma highlighted about the state Telangana and said the state is rich in culture, heritage, art, and crafts.  He said Hyderabad’s industrialization and development are significant achievements. Lauding the initiative of PIB in organizing such tours for journalists, Hon’ble Governor said “In today’s age of communication and high-profile journalism, such visits are very significant. Visiting districts to observe the government’s best practices and taking those learnings back to their respective states helps in strengthening our democratic setup.”

The week-long itinerary of the media delegation includes visits to national institutions like INCOIS, NIN, NSTI and interacting with the beneficiaries of various government schemes. The delegation comprised journalists from dailies of Jammu and Kashmir like Excelsior, Asian Mail, Kashmir Monitor, Gadyal, Kashmir Observer, Brighter Kashmir, State Times, Dainik State Samachar and Udaan. The PIB delegation included Deputy Director Dr. Manas Krishnakanth, M&CO Ms V. Gayathri and IA Sh. Shivcharan Reddy.
