GDC Ganderbal organizes health awareness programme

 

Ganderbal: Health Centre of government degree college Ganderbal on Wednesday organized a health awareness programme about ‘Obesity & Endocrine Disorder’ in collaboration with Paras Hospital, Srinagar in the college auditorium.

The programme aimed to raise awareness about issues and promote obesity and endocrine disorder wellness, besides educating the attendees on the signs and symptoms of different obesity and endocrine disorder conditions.

Further, the programme aimed to sensitize the attendees regarding the strategies for coping with the obesity and endocrine disorder, stress and promoting mental wellness. The event included a series of presentations, and discussions on the theme of the awareness programme by expert Dr Mehroosa of Paras Hospital, Srinagar with the students and faculty members of the college.

Principal of GDC Ganderbal, Prof Fouzia Fatima said that the college is committed to host several such programmes in future to educate students, teaching and non-teaching staff of the college regarding obesity and endocrine disorder and other health issues.

Prof Fouzai thanked all the participants for their overwhelming participation and further said that organizing such a health awareness programme in the College is giving an opportunity for every student and staff of the College to participate in such awareness programmes and also emphasized more such programmes to be organized in the College.

Dr Shaheeena Akhter convenor and other members of the organizing committee of the college were present on the occasion to supervise all the activities of the health awareness programme.

The event aimed to educate students about the dangers of obesity and endocrine disorder, prevention strategies and appropriate responses in case of any obesity and endocrine disorder situations.

Dr Shaheena Akhter, in her introductory speech emphasized the importance of good health and to recognize the symptoms of obesity and endocrine disorder and offering guidance on appropriate initial responses and informed them with a deeper understanding of the challenges posed by obesity and endocrine disorder.

At the conclusion of the event, momentos were distributed among the dignitaries for their participation in the awareness programme.
