Srinagar : A 36-year-old timber worker lost his life on Tuesday in a tragic accident while engaged in extraction activities in the Kudara area of Bandipora district, North Kashmir.
News agency KINS reported that the incident occurred in compartment 120 of Chontimulla, where he reportedly slipped from a forestry vehicle while loading timber logs.
Officials confirmed that the worker died instantly, and his body was later transported to the District Hospital Bandipora for post-mortem and legal formalities.
Once these procedures were completed, his remains were returned to the family for final rites.
The deceased has been identified as Shabir Ahmad Kalas, son of Khan Mohammad Kalas, a resident of Arin Dardpora.
