25 day training program in Premium Banking commences at GCW Parade  

Jammu: The Department of Economics and the Training & Placement Cell of Government College for Women Parade, under the IQAC initiative, has hosted a 25-day intensive training program on “Premium Banking” for Semester-5 students, beginning from today.

This collaborative effort with ICT Academy Chennai and Infosys foundation aims to enhance students’ knowledge and skills in the banking sector, preparing them for future opportunities in the financial services industry.

The inaugural session held today was marked with Lighting of the Lamp followed by a welcome address by Prof. Sonia Bhau and a briefing of the session by Prof. S.S. Parihar wherein he highlighted that 62 students have enrolled for the course and that the daily training sessions shall run from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM thereby completing the 100 Hrs Skill development and hands-on practice program.

Dr Archana Agarwal, the resource person for the training has been deputed from New Delhi. She is professional and an expert in multiple skills.

During the training period Prof Pooja, Prof Sonia, Prof Sukwinder, and Dr Reenu shall act as mentors and Dr Ajaj shall provide the technical support. All the trainees shall be given a certificate that shall help them in their placement drives.

The Chief Guest Dr. Ravinder Tickoo on the occasion underscored the need and importance of such training initiatives under NEP-2020 upskilling and reskilling the youth to pursue their career advancement. The session ended with a formal vote e of thanks proposed by Prof. Sukhvinder Kaur.
