Light snowfall predicted in Upper reaches next week

Srinagar: Amid dry weather, the Meteorological Department has predicted light snowfall in few upper reaches in Kashmir valley during the next week.

A MeT department official said that the weather in the valley is likely to remain dry from October 11 to October 15. He said that later on October 16 and 17, the valley will be cloudy with light snow at some places in the hilly areas. He further said that there is a possibility of light rain at some places in the plains.

He said that the weather may be partly to partly cloudy in the valley on October 18 and 19 and light rains are expected at some places during this time.

In its advisory, the department said that on October 16 and 17, some hilly areas of the valley may experience light snowfall while at other places strong winds accompanied by thunderstorms are expected. Farmers have been asked to continue harvesting and other related operations.
