Dr. Fayaz Ahmad Bhat Condemns Inappropriate Remarks by Yati Narsinghanand on Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

Srinagar: Dr. Fayaz Ahmad Bhat, General Secretary (Org.) of the Samajwadi Party in Jammu & Kashmir, has expressed his profound dismay and condemnation over the recent offensive remarks made by Yati Narsinghanand regarding Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. In a strongly worded statement, Dr. Fayaz Ahmad Bhat said:

“The deeply irresponsible and disrespectful comments made by Yati Narsinghanand about our beloved Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) are not only an affront to the Muslim community but an attempt to incite hatred and discord among the people of this nation. The Prophet (ﷺ), known as a mercy for all of humanity, embodied the highest values of compassion, justice, and peace. Any effort to malign his character is an attack on the essence of humanity and the principles of harmony and respect that all religions advocate.”

Dr. Fayaz emphasized, while we must maintain restraint, we also have a responsibility to stand firmly against such divisive rhetoric, which threatens the peace and social fabric of our nation,” he added.

Calling for decisive action, Dr. Fayaz Ahmad Bhat urged the authorities to hold individuals like Yati Narsinghanand accountable for their incendiary remarks, stating, “It is the duty of the country to protect the sanctity of all religious figures and to prevent any actions that could lead to violence and unrest. The harmony of our diverse society must be preserved, and those who seek to destabilize it should be met with the full force of the law.”

In his concluding remarks, Dr. Fayaz reiterated the need for interfaith unity and respect: “India’s strength lies in its diversity, and we must not allow a few voices of hatred to overshadow the centuries-old bonds of brotherhood that have defined our nation. I urge people of all faiths to stand united against any form of intolerance and to continue promoting peace, respect, and mutual understanding.”
