Farooq Abdullah Hopes India and Pakistan Will Give Peace a Chance at SCO Meeting

 

Srinagar: Former Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister, Farooq Abdullah, expressed optimism about the upcoming participation of India’s External Affairs Minister, S. Jaishankar, in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meeting scheduled to take place in Pakistan.

According  to KNS correspondent, Abdullah highlighted the importance of dialogue and engagement between India and Pakistan, especially given the strained relations in recent years.

In his remarks, Abdullah underscored the significance of economic cooperation between the two nations. “Economic issues are important for all of us but I am sure that during the meeting, both sides will address bilateral matters and work towards strengthening ties,” he said according to KNS correspondent.

He added that both countries must move beyond their differences and adopt a friendly approach to achieve better mutual understanding.

Abdullah expressed hope that the animosity that has clouded our relations will disappear, and a better relationship between the two nations will emerge,” he stated.
