Apni Party holds post-election review meeting

‘High voter turnout in recent elections indicates the restoration of public faith in the democratic process’

Srinagar: The leadership of the Apni Party expressed gratitude to the people, particularly the youth of Jammu and Kashmir, for their significant participation in the recently concluded assembly elections. The party leaders stated, “The high voter turnout in the recent assembly elections reflects a renewed public trust in the democratic process. The enthusiastic public participation in the assembly polls indicates that people now have full faith in elections, whereas earlier, this faith had been shattered.”

In a statement issued to Asian mail, the party leaders held an extraordinary meeting to review the post-election scenario in Jammu and Kashmir.

The meeting, convened at the party headquarters in Srinagar, was presided over by party president Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari. Prominent leaders present at the meeting included Senior Vice President Ghulam Hassan Mir, the party’s Parliamentary Affairs Committee (PAC) Chairman, Mohammad Dilawar Mir, General Secretary Rafi Ahmad Mir, Provincial President Mohammad Ashraf Mir, Chief Spokesperson Muntazir Mohiddin, and others.

During the meeting, the party leaders evaluated the current political environment in Jammu and Kashmir and reviewed the recent elections. They remarked, “The extensive and enthusiastic public participation in the elections is truly an encouraging development that has occurred after several decades. The high turnout indicates the restoration of public faith in the democratic process.”

The leaders credited the Election Commission of India (ECI) for reinstating public trust in the electoral process within Jammu and Kashmir, saying, “First, the ECI successfully facilitated free and fair parliamentary elections in the region, and now it has ensured that the assembly elections were conducted peacefully, fairly, and democratically.”

In the meeting, the leaders also discussed certain party matters and public issues. They shared their ideas and personal feedback about the grassroots-level situation across J&K, highlighting the need for continued engagement with the public to address their concerns effectively.
