Jammu: A pistol and ammunition was recovered from the fields of Khanpur area of Kathua district officials said on Thursday.
Officials told GNS that information was received that an unknown person has concealed a pistol and ammunition in a field in Khanpur.
Based on the information a team of Police conducted searches in the Khanpur area, resulting in the recovery of one pistol along with five cartridges, which was found buried beneath the soil, they said.
Meanwhile, police has registered a case under FIR No 204/2024/U/S 3/25 Arms Act in this regard, they added.
