According to Congress source Gandhi will arrive in Srinagar via a special chartered flight and then take a helicopter to Surankote.
“After addressing the rally, he’ll fly back to Srinagar and address a party campaign rally in the central Shalteng constituency, where JKPCC chief Tariq Hamid Karra is contesting the election. Gandhi will then leave for New Delhi in the evening,” he further added.
This comes as part of the pre-poll alliance between the National Conference (NC) and the Congress in J&K. The NC is contesting 52 seats, while the Congress is fighting in 31 constituencies. They’ve left two seats uncontested – one in the Valley for CPI-M and the other in Jammu division for the Panthers Party. However, the NC-Congress alliance couldn’t reach a consensus on five seats, which will see a friendly contest between the two parties.
