Asian Mail

New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party leader Atishi took oath as Delhi Chief Minister today at Raj Niwas, becoming the third woman Chief Minister of Delhi after Sushma Swaraj and Sheila Dikshit . At 43, Atishi has achieved this milestone, and her journey is nothing short of inspiring.

Other AAP leaders, including Saurabh Bharadwaj, Gopal Rai, Kailash Gahlot, Imran Hussain, and Mukesh Ahlawat, also took oath as council of ministers in the Atishi-led Delhi cabinet.

Atishi expressed mixed emotions about the change in leadership, thanking outgoing CM Arvind Kejriwal for trusting her with this responsibility while also feeling sad about his resignation. She vowed to work hard to bring Kejriwal back as Chief Minister after the upcoming assembly elections.

Atishi’s journey in politics has been remarkable, from being an advisor to former Education Minister Manish Sisodia to improving education in Delhi’s government-run schools. She represents the Kalkaji constituency in the Delhi Assembly and holds the most portfolios in the Delhi government.

AAP MLA Mukesh Ahlawat credited Arvind Kejriwal and Baba Saheb for his appointment as Minister, promising to prioritize the needs of Dalit and backward communities. Kailash Gahlot emphasized the party’s goal of continuing to work for Delhi’s people and bringing back Arvind Kejriwal.

Atishi’s parents, Tripta Wahi and Vijay Singh, were present during the ceremony, making it a proud moment for the family.

With Atishi at the helm, AAP prepares for the upcoming assembly polls, and her leadership will be crucial in shaping the party’s future.
