Gurez: Tragedy struck during election duty in Gurez when a BSF personnel lost his life late last night.
Official sources told NVI, that a person of the 75th battalion of BSF fell unconscious while on duty at ITI Gurez and was rushed to the hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.
The deceased has been identified as Barber Ram Babu Thakur, son of Brijnath Thakur, a resident of Salugara Bazar, Jalpaiguri district, West Bengal.
The body has been sent to the Community Health Centre (CHC) Dawar for postmortem, and will be handed over to the family after completion of medico-legal formalities. An investigation into the incident has been initiated.
