Millitant Bodies Sighted, Number Yet to Be Confirmed: IGP Kashmir

“Security Forces Alert, Vigilant to Foil Militant Plans in J&K”

Baramulla: The Inspector General of Police (IGP) for Kashmir Zone, V K Birdi, stated on Saturday that the bodies of terrorists involved in the ongoing encounter in Tappar Pattan have been sighted. However, the exact number of militants killed has not yet been confirmed.

While addressing the media during his visit to Pattan, the IGP said that the cordon and search operation was launched based on intelligence reports suggesting the presence of terrorists in the area.

The operation has been concentrated on a specific building and the areas around it. Although security forces have seen the bodies of some militants, the precise number of those killed is still being determined.

“Terrorists try hard to carry out such attacks. But in J&K, the army, security forces, and J&K police remain highly alert and watchful. They make every effort to prevent such plans,” IGP added.
