Vikram Sahay Assumes Charge as Principal Commissioner of Income Tax, Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh

Major focus on enhancing taxpayer services, creating awareness about voluntary tax compliance, addressing taxpayer grievances

Srinagar: Vikram Sahay, a senior officer of the Indian Revenue Service (IRS) from the 1992 batch, has assumed the charge of Principal Commissioner of Income Tax, Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.  Sahay brings with him immense experience garnered over many years of service rendered in different important assignments across the country.

Sahay has also served on deputation with various key Union Ministries, including the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting and the Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD). His vast experience also includes assignments in the North East region.

In his new role, Sahay’s primary focus will be on enhancing taxpayer services in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, raising awareness of voluntary tax compliance, and addressing taxpayer grievances with greater efficiency. By improving these areas, Shri Sahay aims to create a more transparent and responsive tax environment, helping build trust between taxpayers and the Income Tax Department.

Principal Commissioner has highlighted the departments’ commitment to further enhancing taxpayer services, aiming to streamline processes and improve accessibility for the citizens of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
