Sports Department’s Divisional Level Volleyball Tournament Kicks Off in Ramban

Ramban: The vibrant energy of young athletes filled the District Police Lines in Ramban today as the Inter-District Divisional Level Volleyball Tournament for boys under 19 years commenced. This highly anticipated tournament marks a significant event in the sporting calendar of the Department of Youth Services & Sports, bringing together talented young players from all 10 districts of Jammu division.

The inaugural ceremony was held with remarkable enthusiasm, setting a high tone for the competition ahead. The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Roshan Lal, Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) of Ramban, who played a pivotal role in the opening proceedings. The ceremony commenced with an engaging welcome address delivered by Jagdish Raj Sharma, the District Youth Services & Sports Officer (DYSSO) of Ramban. Sharma provided a comprehensive overview of the tournament, highlighting its significance and the opportunities it offers for the young participants.

In his address, ADDC Ramban lauded the initiative and underscored the importance of such events in bolstering the spirit and determination of young athletes. He emphasized that the tournament would serve as a platform for players to hone their skills, foster team spirit, and build resilience. ADDC Ramban also encouraged the DYSSO to organize sightseeing for the participants, ensuring that they have a well-rounded experience beyond the competitive matches. His personal involvement extended to the opening match, where he took part in the game between Doda and Rajouri, demonstrating not only his support but also his engagement with the players. The opening match was a showcase of high-energy volleyball, reflecting the competitive spirit of the tournament. The game between Doda and Rajouri set the stage for what promises to be an exciting series of matches, highlighting the skill and enthusiasm of the young players from across the division.

The competitions are being meticulously officiated by a panel of sports experts, including Zonal Physical Education Officers (ZPEOs), Physical Education Masters (PEMs), Physical Education Teachers (PETs), Rehbar e Khel Teachers (REKs), NYCs, and other field staff.

As the tournament progresses, it will undoubtedly offer thrilling matches and showcase the best of young volleyball talent in the region. The commitment of the Department of Youth Services & Sports (YSS) J&K to fostering young talent and promoting sportsmanship is evident in the meticulous organization and the enthusiastic participation of all involved.
