New Assembly will make world aware about decisions taken against J-K: Omar Abdullah

Sringar:  National Conference (NC) vice president and former chief minister Omar Abdullah Thursday said that new legislative assembly will make world aware about decisions taken against Jammu and Kashmir in last five years.

He said that contesting elections from two segments depicts the power of National Conference, and asserted that candidates of NC and alliance partner Congress will emerge victorious in the upcoming Assembly elections in J&K.

“The contest from Budgam seat shows our power. NC is not weak. It is a proof of our power. Had there been any risk in fighting polls from Budgam, my party colleagues would not have recommended me to contest. There is a wave of NC in every nook and corner of J&K. Be it Baramulla, Srinagar or Anantnag NC is dominated everywhere. There will be a success for NC, and its alliance partner Congress,” Omar Abdullah told reporters in central Kashmir’s Budgam after filing nomination papers there.
On Wednesday the NC vice president filed his nomination papers from central Kashmir’s Ganderbal.

Responding to a query, the NC leader said we have already clarified in our manifesto that decisions taken against J&K in last five years would be taken to outside world to make people aware what Government of India did in last five years and how it snatched rights of the people of Jammu & Kashmir.
“Though Legislative Assembly the NC will made outside world aware about the decisions taken against J&K and its people in last five years,” Omar said.

He said the misgovernance, charges of corruption and other irregularities took place in last five-six years will be probed by the next government of J&K.

When asked how NC is seeing the contest, the NC vice president Omar Abdullah said “Constituencies have been reorganized, so elections will be different today. The BJP has got an edge during delimitation. There was a rumor that NC comes to power due to boycott, but I want to clear it that in recently held Lok Sabha polls no boycott happened, but still NC won 2 seats. Also today people are massively taking part in electoral process and we are hopeful that NC will emerge victorious in elections,” he said.
