MiG-29 Fighter Jet Crashes in Rajasthan Due to Technical Issue, Pilot Ejects Safely

Rajasthan: An Indian Air Force (IAF) MiG-29 fighter jet crashed in a field near Uttarlai in Barmer, Rajasthan, yesterday after experiencing a technical snag during a training mission. The pilot successfully ejected from the aircraft before impact, escaping harm.

The jet, which took off from an Air Force base in the Barmer sector, developed a critical technical issue and caught fire after crashing into the unpopulated area.

The IAF has issued a statement confirming the incident: “During a routine night training mission in the Barmer sector, an IAF MiG-29 encountered a critical technical snag, forcing the pilot to eject. The pilot is safe, and no loss of life or property was reported.”

A Court of Inquiry has been ordered to investigate the cause of the accident. Local officials, including Barmer District Collector Nishant Jain and Superintendent of Police Narendra Singh Meena, have arrived at the crash site.
