Former JeI Gen Sec’s Son to Contest Assembly Elections from Langate Constituency as Independent

 

Srinagar: Dr. Kaleemullah, son of former General Secretary of Jamaat-e-Islami Gh Qadir Lone, is set to contest the upcoming assembly elections from the Langate Constituency of Kupwara district.

Dr Kaleemullah confirmed to Kashmir News Service (KNS) that he will contest Assembly Elections from Langate Constituency as Independent Candidate.

His main rivals will include Irfan Panditpori from the People’s Conference (PC), an AIP candidate yet to be announced, and Irshad Ahmad, the joint candidate of the NC-Congress alliance.

Langate, known for its political dynamics, has been a stronghold for the AIP, whose leader, Er Rashid, has twice represented the constituency in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly.
