Pre-poll alliance with Congress was not easy decision: Omar Abdullah

Srinagar: National Conference vice president Omar Abdullah Friday said that entering into a pre-poll alliance and the subsequent seat-sharing with the Congress was not an easy decision.
Addressing a workers meet, Omar Abdullah, as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that it wasn’t easy to enter into a pre-poll alliance as the party had to sacrifice seats where it was confident of winning.
He, however, said that the decision was so impactful that the outcome was witnessed as soon as they alliance was finalised.
“The outcome was witnessed when the former chief minister Ghulam Nabi Azad stepped away from campaigning,” Omar said, adding that it is not his fight or the fight of his leaders, but it’s a collective fight that will bring respite to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
“The people have faced several issues with some languishing in jails, while some being harassed, but NC has made it clear in its manifesto that PSA will be completely removed from J&K if elected to power,” he said.
