SVEEP: B.Ed College Sgr organizes Heena Art Competition to raise awareness on Elections

Srinagar: A Heena Art Competition was today organized by the Govt. College of Education M.A Road, Srinagar to raise awareness, increase electoral participation and boost voter turnout in the forthcoming Assembly Elections of 2024.

A significant number of students participated in the competition, using Heena Art as a medium to express the importance of civic duty and electoral participation. The competition provided a platform for students to creatively reflect themes related to democracy, empowerment, and voting rights through intricate Heena designs.

The art competition successfully inspired the students to disseminate the message of the importance of voting to their peers and the general public.

Prof. (Dr.) Seema Naz, Principal Govt. College of Education was also present during the event.

The competition was judged by a panel of jury members, including Prof. Lateef Ahmad Shah, Convener ELC/SVEEP and Arshid Souleh, Art Teacher.

On the occasion, students were also recognized for their outstanding Heena designs in which Ahtisam Shafi, B.Ed 2nd Semester bagged 1st position while as Zarina Bano, B.Ed 2nd Semester got second position and Joziya, M.Ed 3rd Semester bagged 3rd position in the competition. Nida Masoodi, M.Ed 3rd Semester, Kulsuma, B.Ed 3rd Semester and Sama Anayat, M.Ed 3rd Semester also received Consolation Prizes.
