Lok Adalat for amicable settlement of Consumer Cases held at DCC Mominabad Srinagar

07 Cases settled, Rs. 5.39 lac awarded as settlement amount

Srinagar:  In accordance with J&K Legal Service Authority calendar for the year 2024, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Srinagar today organized a special Lok Adalat for the amicable settlement of Consumer cases at the District Court Complex (DCC) Mominabad, Srinagar

The Lok Adalat held in the Court of District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Srinagar, was conducted under the able direction of Justice Tashi Rabstan, Chief Justice (A) of the High Court of J&K and Ladakh, and under supervision of Jawad Ahmed, Chairman of the DLSA (Pr. District & Sessions Judge) Srinagar.

The objective of this initiative was to provide a platform for amicable resolution of consumer disputes and ensure swift justice delivery. The Lok Adalat serves as a vital tool for promoting access to justice and ensuring that the consumers’ rights are protected.

One bench was constituted for the said Lok-Adalat that took up 16 cases for settlement, out of which 07 cases were amicably settled and Rs. 5,39,022 was awarded as settlement amount in Consumer Cases.
