Former MLA Abdul Rahim Rather Quits Apni Party, Cites Disagreement with Manifesto

Anantnag: In a significant political development, Abdul Rahim Rather, the former MLA and District President of Apni Party in Anantnag, announced his resignation from the party’s basic membership on Friday. Addressing a press conference, Rather confirmed his decision, stating, “From today, I have no affiliation with the Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party.”

Rather cited his discomfort with the party’s manifesto as the reason for his resignation. “The manifesto is not to my liking, and it’s a problem for me to present it to the people who vote for me,” he explained. He further clarified that he would not contest the upcoming assembly elections on the Apni Party ticket.

When asked about his future political plans, Rather revealed that he is in touch with several political parties but will consult with his workers before making a decision on his next course of action.
