Amit Shah Questions Congress on Alliance with National Conference

Challenges Rahul Gandhi on Article 370, Reservations, National Unity

New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday strongly criticized the Congress party for its alliance with the National Conference (NC) in the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir elections, posing a series of tough questions to Rahul Gandhi.

Shah’s pointed queries targeted the Congress-NC coalition’s stance on Article 370, reservations for marginalized communities, and issues concerning national unity.

Taking to social media platform X, Shah accused the Congress party of compromising national integrity for political gains.

He questioned whether Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party support the NC’s manifesto, which includes promises to restore Article 370 and 35A, abolish reservations for Dalits, Gujjars, Bakarwals, and Pahadis, and promote separatism by engaging in dialogue with Pakistan.

Shah’s 10 questions also focused on the alliance’s stance on reinstating government jobs for relatives of those involved in terrorism, reviving cross-border trade with Pakistan, and renaming significant locations such as Shankaracharya Hill and Hari Hill.

He demanded that Congress clarify its position on these divisive issues, accusing the party of risking national security for political power.

“The Modi government ended years of discrimination against Dalits, tribes, Pahadis, and backward communities by granting them reservations after the abrogation of Article 370 and 35A,” Shah wrote, challenging Rahul Gandhi to state whether Congress supports the NC’s anti-reservation agenda.
