Empty AK rifle magazines, bullets, communication set, among others recovered: Police
Rajouri: Security forces on Tuesday unearthed an underground militant hideout in the dense forests of Sagrawat village in Rajouri district on Tuesday evening, officials said.
“Acting on specific intelligence, a joint team of the Darhal Police, Special Operations Group (SoG), Army’s Rashtriya Rifles, and CRPF launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in the Sagrawat area. During the operation, the team discovered a well-concealed hideout, which was buried under soil in the thick forest,” reads a handout.
It further reads, inside, the forces found a range of items, including four LPG cylinders, empty AK rifle magazines, bullets, a communication set, and various food supplies. Other items recovered included solar lights, blankets, and utensils, indicating that the hideout was used to sustain militant activity in the area.
“Search operations in the region are ongoing, and authorities believe that the discovery of this hideout has foiled the terrorists plans,” it reads.
