PSAJK District Kulgam Holds Second Annual Conference in Aharabal

President G N Var Advocates for Academic Calendar Reforms And Embracing Artificial Intelligence (AI) In Education

Srinagar: The Private Schools Association of Jammu & Kashmir (PSAJK) District Kulgam hosted its Second Annual Conference at Aharabal, Kashmir. This significant event brought together key stakeholders, including school administrators, educators, and community leaders, to address the pressing issues facing private schools in the region.

The conference was graced by the presence of G N Var, President of PSAJK, who served as the chief guest. The event was meticulously organized by the district body of PSAJK, led by Waseem Sidique, (District President) and supported by other key figures such as Ghulam Hassan Rather (Patron), Jahangir Ahmad Bhat (Chief Organizer) Farooq Ahmad Naik (District Vice President), Arshid Ahmad Bhat (District Secretary) and Aabid Hussain Lone (District Treasurer) etc.

“The primary focus of the conference was to address the diverse challenges faced by private schools, particularly the growing complexities of integrating artificial intelligence into educational practices. Participants also reflected on the procedural requirements set by government regulations, which, while well-intentioned, can sometimes present obstacles to innovation and limit students’ access to cutting-edge educational opportunities. The discussion highlighted the need for a more collaborative approach in shaping policies that allow private schools to effectively implement AI technologies while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.”

PSAJK President G N Var, emphasized the importance of addressing these issues “The March session has not been productive for the students of Kashmir Valley. It is imperative that we re-evaluate our academic calendars to ensure that our students receive the best possible education without any disruption. The issues facing our private schools are not just administrative; they directly impact the quality of education our children receive. In addition, the rapid advancements in artificial intelligence are transforming the educational landscape, presenting both opportunities and challenges for our schools. We must work together to integrate these technologies effectively, ensuring our students are equipped with the skills they need for the future. Reform is necessary not just for today, but to prepare our children for the world they will inherit.”

PSAJK District President Waseem Sidique voiced his concerns regarding the challenges faced by private schools “The private education sector in Kashmir is under constant pressure from policies that do not align with the needs of our students. Our schools are not just institutions; they are lifelines for the future of our children. We demand that these unjust challenges be addressed immediately. Our commitment to providing quality education will not waver, but it is time for the authorities to support, not hinder, our efforts.”

Chief Organizer PSAJK, Shah Gulzar also addressed the gathering, highlighting the achievements and ongoing efforts of the association “The progress we have made so far is commendable, but there is still much work to be done. We must continue to strive for excellence in education and ensure that every child in our valley has access to quality schooling. This conference is a testament to our commitment to these goals.”

Besides the central body office bearers such as Faisal Islam Mir, General Secretary, Shah Gulzar, Majid Bhat, Bilal Bhat, Tahir Wagay and others participated in the event. The guests of the occasion spoke and highlighted some of the main achievements and issues related to private schools.

The event concluded with a renewed pledge by all members to continue advocating for the rights and interests of private schools in the region. The PSAJK reaffirmed its dedication to addressing the challenges faced by its members and ensuring that private education in Kashmir reaches new heights.
