Sopore Police arrested two drug peddlers and recovered psychotropic substances

Sopore:  Sopore Police have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered psychotropic substances from their possession.
A police party of Police Post Bus Stand headed by IC PP Bus Stand SI Basit Ahmad under the supervision of SDPO Sopore Shri. Sarfaraz Bashir-JKPS and SHO PS Sopore Insp. Ayaz Gellani, while patrolling the jurisdiction apprehended two persons near Samad Abad Crossing Shalimar Colony Sopore.
During the search 209 capsules of SPASMOPROXYVON Plus were recovered from their possession.
On preliminary enquiry they disclosed their identity as Waseem Nabi Wani S/O Ghulam Nabi Wani and Tafazul Islam S/O Naseer Ahmad Parray both the residents of Model Town Sopore.
In this connection, case FIR No. 197/2024 under relevant sections of NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Sopore & investigation has been initiated.
Sopore police urges the common masses to give information regarding narcotics or any other crimes to the nearest police establishment or dial 112.
General Public is requested to cooperate with police in curbing the menace of drugs from the society. We reassure the community members that police will act tough against the criminals as per the law.
