SMC Implements Swachhata Pakhwada Campaign to Enhance Cleanliness at Transportation Hubs

Srinagar: The Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) has taken proactive measures to elevate cleanliness standards at crucial transportation hubs within the city including Bus Terminals/Stands Railway Station, and the airport through the implementation of the Swachhata Pakhwada Campaign. This Campaign is aimed at fostering a culture of cleanliness and environmental responsibility among all stakeholders.

In a concerted effort to achieve this goal, SMC has launched targeted cleanliness drives at these key transportation hubs. These drives involve systematic waste disposal activities and sanitation efforts carried out by dedicated SMC teams to ensure a pristine and hygienic environment for all individuals.

To reinforce the importance of proper waste disposal practices, SMC has installed informative signage at strategic locations within the city. These signs serve as a visual reminder to travelers and transport staff about the significance of responsible waste management and the pivotal role they play in maintaining cleanliness and sustainability.

These programs aim to educate participants on the importance of upholding cleanliness standards and promoting a sense of collective responsibility towards preserving a clean environment. Through interactive sessions and engaging activities, participants will be encouraged to actively contribute to the cleanliness drives and embrace sustainable practices in their daily routines.

The Swachhata Pakhwada Campaign underscores SMC’s commitment in promoting a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable city for all residents and visitors alike. By collaborating with commuters, transport staff, and other stakeholders, SMC aims to create a positive impact on the overall cleanliness and hygiene levels at these transportation hubs.
