Successful Conclusion of “My Youth My Pride” Sports Activities for August in North Kashmir

Srinagar:The “My Youth My Pride” sports activities for August culminated in North Kashmir with outstanding performances across a range of sports.

The Divisional Sports Officer, Kashmir, supervised the final competitions in the three disctricts.
Handball, table tennis, and badminton competitions were concluded at the Indoor Sports Stadium, Baramulla and General Bipin Rawat Stadium in Baramulla successfully, drawing huge numbers of athletes across the district.

The closing ceremonies for kabaddi, football, and hockey were held at the Indoor Sports Hall in Handwara and Playfield Kulangam, Kupwara, featuring enthusiastic participation from trainees hailing from remote villages.

In District Bandipora, the final events for hockey and wushu took place at SK Sports Stadium, drawing significant youth participation. Additionally, the kabaddi competition at GHSS Shadipora, Bandipora, saw around 120 players compete, with all participants receiving certificates.

Meanwhile the 8th District Shopian Wushu Championship 2024 continued into its second day at Sports Stadium, Batpora Shopian, with a large number of athletes from various schools, clubs, and JKSC training centers taking part.

Mrs. Nusrat Gazala, Divisional Sports Officer, Kashmir, highlighted the enthusiastic response from the youth to the “My Youth My Pride” activities. She expressed immense satisfaction in providing a platform for athletes to compete and prepare for larger stages. She also mentioned that the Secretary, J&K Sports Council is personally overseeing all MYMP activities across J&K to ensure their smooth execution.
