
Srinagar: `Under the theme, “Ek Paed Shaheedon Ke Naam” Police organised plantation drives in Budgam, Ganderbal and Handwara to honour and remember the ultimate sacrifices made by the police personnel in the line of duty.
In Budgam, the initiative was inaugurated by SSP Budgam Shri Nikhil Borkar-IPS alongwith Addl. SP Budgam Shri Ragav S-IPS at District Police Headquarter Budgam. The family members of the police martyrs were present during the occasion alongwith other officers/officials of Budgam Police. A similar plantation drive was also held at District Police Lines Budgam where DySP DAR was present along with the families of the martyrs. The occasion was followed by an interaction with family members of police martyrs.
In Ganderbal, on the directions of SSP Ganderbal Shri Sandeep Gupta-IPS, under the supervision of SP Hqrs Ganderbal Shri Gh Hassan-JKPS alongwith Sindh Forest Division Ganderbal. the plantation drive was organised at Govt Higher Secondary School Saloora. The Plantation drive was held in the school premises in which SP Hqrs Ganderbal, Principal GGHSS Saloora, NOKs of J&K Police Martyrs, officers of District Police & Sindh Forest Division Ganderbal & school students participated with full enthusiasm.
In Handwara, the Plantation Drive was organised at District Police Lines Handwara under the theme ” Ek Paed Shaheedon Ke Naam”. The event attracted a good number of local people and Handwara Police thanked all the participants and officials for their participation and kind support.
The main motive behind such plantation drives is to get at least one tree planted in the name of J&K Police Martyrs and to memorize the sacrifices given by the Martyred Police Personnel in line of duty. This noble initiative aims to pay tribute to the sacrifices of the martyred police personnel and to create a sense of patriotism and environmental awareness among the public.
