2 drug peddlers arrested,Contraband substance recovered : Police


Kulgam: Police have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substances from their possession.

In a statement issued to Asian Mail, a  Police spokesperson  said that during the search, officers were able to recover 7.3 Kgs of Poppy Straw like contraband. The two persons identified as Shafat Ahmad Khanday son of Mushtaq Ahmad Khanday resident of Damjan and Jora Singh son of Darshan Singh resident of Dholan Ludhiana, Punjab on board have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody. Also vehicles used in commission of crime have been seized.
Meanwhile, a case vide FIR No. 202/2024 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Qazigund & investigation has been initiated.
