Former MLA Noor Mohammad Sheikh Quits Apni Party

Srinagar: Noor Mohammad Sheikh, a former Member of the Legislative Assembly from Batamaloo and the District President Srinagar for the Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party, has resigned from the party.

Noor Mohammad confirmed the resignation to Srinagar based news gathering agency Kashmir Dot Com, without disclosing his future plans.

Sheikh, who had previously been associated with the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) before joining the Apni Party, has added to the growing list of high-profile defections.

This departure follows the resignation of Usman Majid, a senior vice president and founding member of the Apni Party, further shaking the party’s stability.

As reported earlier, the trend of politicians switching allegiances continues, with speculation that more leaders may soon follow suit.–(KDC)
