DC Srinagar undertook visit to City Hospitals; takes stock of their functioning

Issues on the spot directions to resolve parking issues in JLNM Hospital, Medical/Solid Waste issue in Gousia Hospital & development of public park

In a first of its kind, facility for investigations during wee hours to be provided at PHC Batamaloo and PHC Zadibal

Srinagar: To ensure smooth patient care facilities in City hospitals, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat today undertook visits to JLNM Hospital Rainawari, CHC Gousia Khanyar, PHC Zadibal، PHC Zadibal and other hospitals.

During the visit, the DC took first hand appraisal about the medical facilities being extended to the patients. He inspected various wards and sections of these hospitals. He also enquired about the availability of medicines, diagnostics and other facilities available in the hospital.

On the occasion, Dr Bilal also interacted with the patients and attendants to enquire about their satisfaction with the services of these health institutions.

 At JLNM hospital, the DC directed for early completion of  works on additional Block of the facility being constructed by the J&K Housing Board. He further directed to explore every possibility for its completion to ensure better patient care.

The DC also made a commitment for enhancing the parking facility at the hospital and committed of providing 30 lakh by the District Administration to overcome parking issues at the hospital.

Similarly to provide space/shed for Medical/Solid Waste Management in Gousia Hospital, the DC committed to provide Rs 20 lakh. He  also instructed the concerned to take measures for upgradation of the public park adjacent to the CHC Gousia.

Meanwhile, in a first of its kind in Government health centres, the DC vowed to provide machinery equipment for early investigations and on pilot basis the said machinery shall be provided to PHC Batamaloo and PHC Zadibal.

Further, the DC assured that the said machinery shall be provided to other health centres in a phased manner for providing investigation facility during wee hours.

He said the District Administration is committed for overall upliftment of each and every sector, especially health.

The DC directed the hospital Administrations to maintain complete hygiene in and around the hospitals and provide better Medicare facilities to the patients.

He also stressed for proper utilization of human resources and to serve the patients with utmost dedication and sincerity.

During the visit, the DC was accompanied by Chief Planning Officer, Fayaz Ahmad Dar, Chief Medical Officer, Dr Tahir Sajad, Superintending Engineer R&B ànd other concerned Officers.
