Another batch of 1477 pilgrims left for Kashmir from Bhagwati Nagar base camp

Jammu: Another batch of 1477 pilgrims from Bhagwati Nagar base camp of Jammu left for Kashmir for Shri Amarnathji Yatra under tight security. According to the concerned authorities, during one month of this Yatra which started from June 29, 4 lakh 66 thousand pilgrims have been blessed with the darshan of Amarnath Shrine located at a height of 3 thousand 880 feet in Kashmir, while there are still three weeks left in the Yatra.
Official sources said that on Tuesday morning, 1,477 pilgrims from Bhagwati Nagar base camp in 52 vehicles went to Nanun Pahalgam base camp in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district and Baltal base camp in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district under tight security. He said that out of these pilgrims, the first caravan of 377 pilgrims left for Baltal base camp in 13 vehicles around 3:30 in the morning while 11 hundred pilgrims left for Nanun Pahalgam base camp in 39 vehicles.

The administration, civil society organizations, trade unions and common people in the valley extended a warm welcome to the pilgrims. All arrangements have been made to ensure the safety of the Yatra. While the best arrangements have been made to provide all the facilities and services to the pilgrims, the security has also been ensured. According to police sources, around 800 CCTV cameras have been installed on the pilgrimage routes. Besides, 500 additional companies of security forces have been deployed. Each company consists of at least one hundred personnel. The 52-day Yatra will conclude on August 19 on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.
