Ensure Adequate Arrangements for Devotees on Annual Urs of Nanga Baji Sahib: Bukhari Urges Admin

Srinagar: Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari on Monday called on the administration to ensure all necessary arrangements are made for devotees attending the annual Urs Mubarak of Syed Ghulam Rasool Shah, widely known as Nanga Baji Sahib, in the Malangam area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora.

A statement issued to Asian Mail stated that the week-long Urs of Nanga Baji Sahib (RA) begins on August 4, with a large number of devotees expected to visit the revered shrine as per tradition.

“As the auspicious occasion of the annual Urs of the revered saint, Hazrat Syed Ghulam Rasool Shah (Nanga Baji Sahib), is beginning of August 4, I request the administration to make all necessary arrangements to ensure that devotees are provided with adequate facilities during their visit to the shrine,” Altaf Bukhari said.

“Traditionally, the revered shrine of Nanga Baji attracts large crowds during the Urs days. Therefore, it is imperative that the administration ensures all necessary facilities, including the availability of electricity, drinking water, and transport, are sufficiently provided for the devotees. Also, maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the area and around the sacred site is of utmost importance,” he added.

Meanwhile, the party’s district president for Bandipora, Syed Shafat Kazmi, has also appealed to the local administration to make all the necessary arrangements for the smooth observation of the annual Urs of Hazrat Nanga Baji Sahib. Kazmi has extended greetings to the devotees on this revered occasion.
