Lt Governor Expresses Grief Over Tragic Road Accident in Daksum

Condolences Flood in for Daksum Road Accident Victims, Leaders Mourn Loss of Life

Srinagar, July 27: The Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, has expressed grief over the tragic road accident in Daksum, Anantnag.

In a condolence message, the Lt Governor has said, “I am deeply saddened to learn about the loss of precious lives in an unfortunate road accident in Daksum, Anantnag today. My thoughts and prayers are with bereaved family members during this hour of grief. I have issued instructions to the District Administration to provide all necessary assistance to the affected family”.

Member of Parliament Anantnag-Rajouri and National Conference senior leader Mian Altaf Ahmad, has expressed grief over the deaths in a tragic road accident in Kokernag, Anantnag.
In a statement issued here, Mian Altaf Ahmed termed the incident most unfortunate, shocking and heart breaking and expressed anguish and pain over the tragic incident, which has claimed precious human lives. Mian Altaf expressed solidarity with the bereaved families and prayed for peace to the departed souls.

Meanwhile, Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari has expressed his deep grief and sorrow over the tragic road accident in Daksum Kokernag that resulted in the loss of eight lives, including five children, today.

The accident occurred when a car, carrying a family from Kishtwar to Marwah via Sinthan Top, skidded off the road and plunged into a gorge at Daksum. Tragically, eight occupants of the vehicle, including the five children, were killed in this devastating incident.

In his statement, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari said, “I am deeply grieving over this tragedy. It is painful to learn that among the eight deceased members of a single family, there are two women and five children aged between 6 and 16. I find myself at a loss for words to express my grief and sorrow over this tragedy. May Almighty Allah grant the departed souls the highest place in Jannah. And, may Allah give the much needed patience to the kith and kin of the victims to bear the pain of this inconsolable and irreparable loss.”

Apni Party’s District President Anantnag Abdul Rahim Rather has expressed deep shock and grief over the loss of lives in this tragic road accident.

Meanwhile, People’s Democratic Party President Mehbooba Mufti expressed grief and sorrow over loss of lives in the Daksum Accident

“This heart-wrenching tragedy is a tremendous loss to the families involved and the wider Kishtwar community. On behalf of the People’s Democratic Party and myself, I extend my deepest condolences to those mourning this profound loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with the grieving families as they navigate through this unimaginable grief”, she said in a statement issued here.

“May the departed souls rest in peace, and may their families find the strength and solace to endure this trying time”, she added further.

In his condolence message ,Hakeem Yaseen while expressing heartfelt grief and sorrow over the death of 8 members from a single family near Daksum Kokernag , has conveyed his sympathies with the bereaved family. He has prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls and has urged the Govt :to provide ex-gratia relief to the bereaved family.

PDF Chairman has also urged the traffic police to streamline traffic movement on kishtwar – sinthan – Anantnag road adding that rash driving on this hilly road stretch causes frequent traffic accidents especially during summer months. He has called for stringent action against traffic violators.
