Kargil: Authorities in Kargil district have imposed a ban on the use of drones from July 24 to 26, citing security concerns during Kargil Vijay Diwas celebrations.
“We cannot take any chances with the security of our VIP guests,” said Shrikant Balasaheb Suse, District Magistrate, Kargil. “This ban is a precautionary measure to ensure their safety.”

The ban aims to reduce risks to the security of VIPs visiting Drass on July 25 and 26. “In view of the emergent situation and shortage of time, this order is being passed ex-parte,” said the District Magistrate in the order.
The ban does not apply to security agencies, including police, paramilitary, SPG, and defense forces. “The order shall not be applicable to security agencies, including police, paramilitary, and SPG as well as defense forces,” reads the order.
The order will be enforced by the Senior Superintendent of Police, Kargil, and will be publicized through various channels, including the district website, social media, and public notices. “The Sr. Superintendent of Police, Kargil shall be responsible for the compliance of above order,” reads the order. “Any person found guilty of a violation shall be prosecuted and punished as per the provisions of the law.”
