Handwara Police Crack Facebook Cheating Case: 3 Arrested for Honey Trap Scam

Handwara: Police in Handwara have solved a facebook cheating case by arresting 3 accused persons involved in the commission of crime. Police Station Vilgam received an application regarding cheating on Facebook through Honey trap and grabbing money.

In this regard, a case FIR No. 43/2024 under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Vilgam and investigation was set into motion. During the course of investigation, three persons were arrested in the commission of this crime who had created a fake facebook account. The trio were cheating people by impersonating as girl identified as 1.Firdous Ah Tantray s/o Mohd Shafi Tantray, 2.Danish Ah Bhat s/o Gh.Mohd Bhat and 3.Aaliyan Ah Bhat s/o Ashiq Hussain Bhat, all residents of Dohama Vilgam. Subsequently, the accused persons have been taken to custody and their mobile phones have been seized. Further investigation in the case is going on.
People are requested not to fall in the trap of cheaters/Fraudsters on social media and not to share personal details with unknown persons. General public hails the swift action of Police Handwara in nabbing the culprits.
