Six Arrested, Vehicles Seized in Baramulla: Police

Baramulla: Police seized six vehicles and arrested six individuals on Thursday in Baramulla District.

In a statement issued to Asian Mail, a Police spokesperson said that the Police  seized vehicles which included two tippers, two dumpers, and two tractors. The individuals arrested were identified as Anzar Malla son of Shabir Ahmad resident of Sheeri, Ghulam Hassan Malik son of Mohammad Munawar resident of Kitchama, Irfan Ahmad Bhat son of Abdul Ahad resident of Hajin Bandipora, Mumtaz Ahmad Wani son of Abdul Aziz resident of Nadihal Bandipora, Ab Hameed Waza son of Gh Mohd and Omer Waza son of Ab Rashid all residents of Frastahaar.

The police stated that the arrests were made after the vehicles and drivers were found to be involved in the illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in the Gantamulla Payeen and Frastahaar Kreeri areas.

He further stated that the cases have been registered against the individuals under relevant sections of law at Police Station Sheeri and Kreeri, and investigations are currently underway.
