Srinagar: On the Ashura, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Birdi, called for peace and unity in the world, particularly in Jammu and Kashmir. He extended his heartfelt wishes for unity and peace, saying, “May the sacrifice of the martyrs guide humanity to strive for justice and high values of human dignity.”

In an X Post, IGP Kashmir wrote, “Wishing for unity and peace on the eve of Ashura. May the sacrifices of the martyrs inspire humanity to strive for justice and uphold the highest values of human dignity.”
Ashura, a significant religious commemoration in the Islamic calendar, marks the martyrdom of Imam Hussain(AS), a grandson of the Prophet Muhammad(Peace Be Upon Him).
